Using the Power of Media to Share Your Coastal Stories
WS-3
Sunday, December 4, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Fulton
Workshop

100 participants; $75

In this dynamic, interactive workshop you will learn journalistic techniques to turn your coastal and conservation issues into popular stories and pitches to engage a broad audience. You will join in a “Pitch Slam” to make story “pitches” to panelists as if they were media gatekeepers: magazine editors, journalists, bloggers, and documentary producers – which they are or have been. You will get feedback, takeaways, and opportunities to develop your story-telling abilities.

The trainers are: Blue Frontier’s Executive Director David Helvarg, a long-time award-winning journalist, author of six books, and host of the Rising Tide Ocean Podcast; Blue Frontier’s Senior Communications Advisor Eleanor (Elli) Kerlow, a lawyer, former journalist, and award-winning public relations professional, and 3-time Pulitzer Prize winning local journalist, Mark Schleifstein.
